How Veev, formerly Dragonfly Group, partnered with us to reinvent the way we build and experience living spaces, working together to address the global housing shortage.
Together, we generated a library of speculative prototypes, approaching the different ways we interact with and experience our living spaces entirely from the ground up. With our concepts rooted in 5-10 year futures, we worked backward, reverse-engineering these areas of innovation to develop actionable guidelines for a living strategy that could break ground today in honest pursuit of this future.
Spending half our paycheck on living expenses alone has become the standard when housing costs continue to outpace wage growth. Where the housing industry has traditionally turned to reduced quality to lower costs, we set out to create a new higher standard.
Creating a “Lifeline” to determine the area of opportunity.
"Do I continue to rent? Do I delay significant life events (like getting married or having a kid)? Do I dip into my retirement (life savings or sell a substantial asset) to afford a down payment? Should I find roommates (Am I too old for roommates?), or should I just move?"
When Veev first approached us, they were looking to develop a comprehensive living experience strategy that would lay the groundwork to achieve their honorable and ambitious vision.
Veev is an expression of Dragonfly Group's consolidation, a new name and brand to house their subsidiaries, unique capabilities, and years of experience all under one roof. This reorganization introduces their unique, end-to-end product approach to panelized building systems and reflects their focus on customer experience and long-term vision of exceptional living for all.
To further their endeavor of developing and promoting communities through modern urban design accessible to all, our latest initiative with Veev seizes the opportunity provided by recent California legislation to convert backyards into additional living space.
